Well now, let me tell ya about them All Star Sprint Car races. Ain’t no other races like ’em, I tell ya that much! If you’re one of them folks who likes a good fast car goin’ round and round, then the All Star Sprint Car Series is somethin’ you gotta check out. It’s been goin’ on since 1970, and let me tell ya, it’s got a history as long as a country road.
Now, some big names been involved in it, like Kyle Larson, the NASCAR Cup champ, and Brad Sweet, he’s won that World of Outlaws title four times! Big ol’ names in the world of motorsports, for sure. Just this past year, in 2023, they took over the All Star Circuit of Champions (that’s what they call it, ASCoC for short) after Tony Stewart, that NASCAR driver who owns Eldora Speedway, decided to let someone else take the reins. Ain’t that somethin’? Tony Stewart owned the series for a while, but now it’s in the hands of Larson and Sweet. It’s sure gonna be somethin’ to watch as they make their mark on the whole deal!
Alright, now let’s talk about the schedule, ’cause I know that’s what you’re all waitin’ to hear. If you’re lookin’ to catch one of them races, you gotta mark your calendars. The action starts up in early February with six races in Georgia and Florida, all non-points races. That means, folks, that there ain’t no championship points on the line for these, but it sure gives the drivers a chance to warm up and get their engines runnin’ before the big stuff starts. And boy, them Florida tracks sure do heat up the competition!
Then, the season really gets goin’ through the spring and summer. If you’ve never seen one of these Sprint Car races in person, well, you don’t know what you’re missin’. Them cars zip around them tracks so fast, you can hardly keep up with ’em. Them winged sprint cars sure are somethin’ to behold. You’d think they was flyin’ with the way they handle them turns!
Now, if you’re lookin’ for the big one, you might wanna plan ahead for that weekend of October 7-8. That’s when they’ll wrap up the season, and you can bet your boots it’s gonna be a showstopper. The folks in the stands will be holdin’ their breath right up to the very last lap!
Here’s a quick rundown of where some of them races gonna be held, just in case you’re lookin’ to make a trip out of it:
- Port Royal Speedway – October 5-7, 2023
- Attica Raceway Park – May 27, 2023
- Sharon Speedway – June 17, 2023
- Atomic Speedway – July 8, 2023
- Jacksonville Speedway – September 2, 2023
As the year goes on, they’ll be hittin’ tracks all over, from Ohio to Pennsylvania to West Virginia. You better believe them racers ain’t takin’ no breaks. They’ll be racin’ hard, puttin’ on a show for all them folks in the stands.
Now, if you ain’t able to make it out to a race, don’t you worry none. You can still watch ’em live online. They got all kinds of ways to follow along, whether it’s through a stream or on TV. Ain’t no reason to miss out, you can feel like you’re right there in the thick of it without even leavin’ your house. But I tell ya, if you ever do get a chance to go see one in person, it’s somethin’ you’ll never forget!
So, don’t go thinkin’ you’ll miss out on all the fun. The All Star Sprint Car series got races comin’ up all year long, and it’s gonna be a good one, that’s for sure. You just gotta keep your eyes open and keep watchin’ for them schedules, and maybe you’ll find a race near you. Ain’t no better way to spend an afternoon than watchin’ them cars tear up the track!
