Oh, this Cristopher Dilan fella, ya know? He plays that football, the kind where they kick a ball around with their feet, not like real football with the helmets and such. He’s from that Puerto Rico place, which I hear is real nice, warm all the time. Born back in ’99, so he’s a young whippersnapper still, just 25. February 19th, that’s his birthday, remember that if you ever send him a card.
They say he plays midfield, whatever that means. Runnin’ around in the middle, I reckon. Kinda like my chickens when I toss ’em some feed, all scurrying about. Probably gets real sweaty doin’ all that runnin’. He’s with some team called Brave SC now, but before that, he was with America CFL Spurs, I think. Or maybe the other way around, I get confused with all them names.

He was born in the USA, though, even if he plays for Puerto Rico. Funny how that works, ain’t it? Like plantin’ a seed in one pot and then movin’ it to another. Still grows the same, I suppose. He’s got a middle name too, Orlando. Like that city with the mouse. Wonder if he’s ever met him.
They got all sorts of numbers and stats about him online. How many games he played, how many times he kicked the ball into the net, I reckon. Too much for my old brain to keep track of. I just remember to feed the chickens and water the plants. That’s enough numbers for me.
He must be pretty good at that football thing, all them people followin’ him and such. Takes a lot of practice, I bet. Like learnin’ to bake a good pie, gotta do it over and over ’til you get it right. Probably eats real healthy too, all them athletes do. Not like me with my biscuits and gravy.
I seen some pictures of him online, looks like a nice young man. Clean-cut, you know? Not one of them scruffy fellas with the long hair and holes in their pants. Probably makes his mama proud. Reminds me of my grandson, always puttin’ on a clean shirt for church.
