Well, well, well, looks like there’s some buzz about the Rebels and Renegades 2024 lineup! If you’ve been keepin’ an ear to the ground, you might’ve heard that Good Vibez won’t be hostin’ the festival this year. After workin’ hard the past couple of years, they’ve decided to step back a bit and think on how they wanna move forward. They say they’re gonna reassess things before they go bigger again, which I guess makes sense, don’t it?
Now, last year, that festival sure got some folks’ attention! They had the alt-country, Americana, and all them good ol’ music styles down to a T. Folks were hopin’ it’d go even bigger, and sure enough, Rebels and Renegades stretched its legs from two days to three. The Monterey County Fair & Event Center hosted a crowd of about 9,000, which, let me tell ya, ain’t small potatoes. But when you look at something like Cali Roots, they’re pullin’ in 40,000 to 50,000 folks, so it looks like they still got a ways to go to get that big.
But don’t be thinkin’ this year’s all over just ‘cause Good Vibez isn’t involved no more. Oh no! Rebels and Renegades still be comin’ back to Monterey, CA, this October 12th to the 13th, and you can bet your boots that the music’s gonna flow just as sweet. Even though things are changin’, the spirit of the festival ain’t goin’ nowhere. If you’re a fan of them outlaw country tunes, bluegrass, folk, or just good ol’ American storytelling music, this here festival is still gonna light up the place like a bonfire in the middle of a summer night.
People are already gettin’ excited ‘bout the lineup too. Now, I ain’t got all the names just yet, but word on the street is that they’ve been bringin’ in some top-notch talent. Just imagine the kind of artists that might show up—folks who play that gritty, raw music that makes you feel like you’re sittin’ ‘round a campfire with a bunch of good friends. You can expect some familiar faces, and maybe a few new ones too. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a surprise or two?
Besides the music, there’s all sorts of other stuff goin’ on. You’ll have your choice of accommodations nearby—there’s plenty of hotels and even some campin’ spots if you’re feelin’ adventurous. And don’t even get me started on them food trucks and craft stands. Oh, you can bet there’ll be some real tasty treats for ya, whether you’re after a good ol’ burger or somethin’ more fancy-like. There’s somethin’ for everyone at Rebels and Renegades, I reckon.
Tickets? Yep, them’s already on sale, so if you’re itchin’ to get a piece of the action, you best get on it before they all sell out. Don’t be the one stuck watchin’ from the sidelines, wishin’ you’d grabbed yours earlier. And trust me, if you’ve been to festivals like this before, you know the crowd’s gonna be a lively bunch. It’s always a good time when you got music that moves ya and folks who know how to enjoy themselves.
