Well now, if ya ever find yourself wanderin’ through Napa, California, and lookin’ for a good place to swing yer clubs, there’s this place called Silverado Resort & Spa. It’s got a North Course that’s real popular. I tell ya, it’s not too shabby, and folks come from all over to hit the links here. Now, I ain’t no golf expert, but I reckon the scorecard’ll give ya a fair idea of what to expect.
So, this North Course has 18 holes, and let me tell ya, it’s a long one. From the back tees, it stretches out to about 6900 yards. That’s a mighty long walk, and if you’re not used to it, you’ll be wishin’ you brought a cart! The course is a par 72, so it ain’t too easy, but it ain’t too hard neither. You get a mix of open fairways and some tricky spots where ya gotta be careful with the ball. But if ya like a challenge, this place is for you.
Now, the folks over there got a scorecard that’ll help ya out. It’s got all the holes listed with their yardage, par, and all that. If ya ask me, it’s pretty clear, though there’s a lotta numbers, and them don’t always make sense to me. But for the golf folks, I reckon they’ll know what to do with it.
One thing I noticed when I looked at the scorecard is that the yardage for each hole is different. Some are longer, some are shorter, but they all add up to 6900 yards when ya play the whole course. That means ya gotta be mindful of the club you’re pickin’ for each shot, especially if you’re not used to courses like this. The par for the course is 72, which means you should aim to get that score, but like I said, it ain’t easy.
- Hole 1: 410 yards, par 4
- Hole 2: 190 yards, par 3
- Hole 3: 550 yards, par 5
- Hole 4: 400 yards, par 4
- Hole 5: 190 yards, par 3
- Hole 6: 440 yards, par 4
- Hole 7: 510 yards, par 5
- Hole 8: 330 yards, par 4
- Hole 9: 500 yards, par 5
- Hole 10: 370 yards, par 4
- Hole 11: 160 yards, par 3
- Hole 12: 420 yards, par 4
- Hole 13: 540 yards, par 5
- Hole 14: 400 yards, par 4
- Hole 15: 370 yards, par 4
- Hole 16: 170 yards, par 3
- Hole 17: 400 yards, par 4
- Hole 18: 450 yards, par 4
Now, the course rating is 73.1, which means it’s a little tougher than average. The slope rating is 138, so if ya ask me, it’s a course for folks who’ve got a bit of experience playin’. But don’t let that scare ya off, it’s still a lotta fun! I’ve seen folks who don’t know much about golf come out and still enjoy the day. Just make sure ya bring plenty of water ‘cause the sun can be mighty hot, and that’ll wear ya out quicker than ya think.
And if yer worried about gettin’ lost or not knowin’ what to do, don’t fret none. There’s maps and stuff online that show ya the layout of the course, hole by hole. You can even see it from the air if that’s what ya like, and they got GPS distances too. But if yer old-fashioned like me, just bring a good ol’ yardage book and you’ll be just fine. Just make sure you take a good look at each hole’s scorecard before ya tee off so you don’t go messin’ up your shots too much.
All in all, Silverado’s North Course is a real treat. It’s not the easiest course out there, but it sure is beautiful and offers a nice challenge. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just want to spend the day hittin’ balls around with friends, it’s a good place to do it. And when you’re all done with your game, you can head over to the resort for some rest and relaxation. So, if you’re ever in Napa, don’t forget to give it a try!
