Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Taha somethin’, yeah, Taha Baadi. Sounds like a fancy name, don’t it? Like somethin’ you’d hear on them TV shows. Anyways, this young man, he plays tennis. You know, that game with the rackets and the fuzzy balls? Yeah, that one.
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you. I just watch sometimes when the telly ain’t showin’ nothin’ else. But from what I gather, this Taha fella, he’s pretty good. They got websites and stuff, you know, the internet thingy, where they keep track of all his wins and losses. Says he’s on somethin’ called the “ATP Tour”. Sounds important, I guess. Probably travels all over the place, hittin’ them balls.
They got all sorts of numbers on these websites, too. Like how many times he hits the ball real hard, they call ’em “aces,” I think. And how many times he messes up and hits it into the net, they call that somethin’ fancy too, “double faults” or somethin’. I can’t keep up with all them fancy words, to be honest. All I know is, the lower the number on the mess-ups, the better he’s doin’.
And they got his “ranking” too. That’s like where he stands compared to all the other tennis players. Seems like it goes up and down dependin’ on if he wins or loses. Just like life, ain’t it? One day you’re up, next day you’re down. Gotta keep swingin’ that racket, I guess.
- They even got videos of him playin’. I watched one, and he’s pretty quick on his feet. Reminds me of them young fellas chasin’ chickens back on the farm. Always gotta be one step ahead.
- And they got somethin’ called a “bio,” that’s like a little story ’bout him. Where he’s from, who his coach is, all that kinda stuff. Seems like a nice young man. Hope he’s eatin’ his vegetables and gettin’ enough sleep. Gotta take care of yourself if you wanna be hittin’ them balls all day.
Folks can even watch his games live, apparently. They got these “live scores” and whatnot. I ain’t figured that out yet, though. Too much clickin’ and scrollin’ for my old hands. I’ll just stick to watchin’ the highlights on the telly, thank you very much.
This Taha Baadi, he plays against all sorts of folks from all over the world. They keep track of that too, who he played and what the score was. Must be tough, travelin’ all the time and playin’ against different people. But I guess that’s what he signed up for, huh? Chasin’ that fuzzy ball and tryin’ to be the best.
They got all this stuff on the internet, you know. You just gotta type in his name and it all pops up. Amazing what they can do these days. Back in my day, we didn’t have no internet. We just had… well, we just had each other, I guess. And the chickens, can’t forget the chickens.

If you’re into tennis, I guess you could look him up. Me? I’m gonna go make myself a cup of tea. All this talkin’ about tennis has made me thirsty.
